Recently, while studying a book, “From Here to There: Alec Soth’s America” I read something truly changed the way I think about art..
“Photographs aren’t good at telling stories. Stories require a beginning, middle and end. They require the progression of time. Photographs stop time. They are frozen. Mute… While they can’t tell stories, they are brilliant at suggesting stories.”
Now think about this and how it applies to almost every single form of 2D art, with the exception of comics.
